Why UJP Thinks Public Money Going to Private Companies is a Bad Idea

UJP has some core tenets or things we truly believe in. We’re a new political organization, so that’s a pretty important. We often talk about stemming the outflow of our talent in Upstate, and achieving meaningful growth and success by enabling the innovation economy. However too often, political leaders think growing the innovation economy means handing out massive incentives to convince companies to invest.

UJP thinks that’s a broken approach that doesn’t work. Many of the reasons that approach doesn’t work are covered in this great post yesterday from our Founder Martin Babinec. Check it out to learn more and you can really dig in and learn a lot about this thinking by getting Martin’s new book, More Good Jobs, available for purchase now by clicking here!
