John Catanzarita has more than 35 years of experience in accounting, business management, employee benefits and human resources. John began with Deloitte, Haskins and Sells in New York City before joining Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation in Syracuse, New York. John served in management positions in risk management, treasury and human resources, where he assumed responsibility for all of the company’s benefit programs. John oversaw multiple successful benefit initiatives at Niagara Mohawk.
In 1996, John co-founded Benefit Consulting Group. He served as president and oversaw the newly created consultative and comprehensive approach to employee benefits and human resource management for clients, guiding the company’s growth to become a very comprehensive consulting organization whose three divisions (Employee Benefits and HR, Financial Services, and Pension Administration) provided a multitude of services to its clients. John has directed numerous RFPs and employee benefit design/consulting programs for many of upstate New York’s largest employers.
In 2014, Benefit Consulting Group, Bailey & Haskell Insurance, Workplace Health Solutions and Schenectady Insuring Agency were re-branded as OneGroup: a leader in risk management, insurance and essential business services. John was soon named Chief Operating Officer of OneGroup. He took the position of Executive Vice President in 2018.
John is highly involved in the community and serves on a number of boards and advisory groups.
