Organization Will Circulate Petitions and Souza Egorov Will Appear on the Unite Line this November

Albany, NY – Unite NY today announced the organization will support Danyela Souza Egorov in her campaign for State Senate in the 29th Senate District this fall. Unite NY is committed to creating a statewide ballot line this fall and will circulate petitions for providing Danyela, a lower Manhattan resident, with an additional line to run on in the November election.

Unite NY cited Souza Egorov’s platform of reform as the reason for the endorsement. During her campaign she has expressed strong support for open primaries and ranked choice voting to empower voters fix a broken system. Danyela is an experienced manager who has worked in business, government, and the nonprofit sector. She is the Founding Board Chair of Brooklyn RISE Charter; a public K-5 school serving 150 students in Sunset Park and is co-founder of the New York State Charter Parent Council, a network of more than 350 families advocating for their schools across the state.

Unite NY Chairman John Bullis said, “Danyela Souza Egorov is the kind of leader we need to start sending to Albany. She’ll fight for lower taxes and more opportunities for small businesses. She’ll fight for better educational opportunities and most importantly, she’ll fight to fix a broken system and give 3.5 million voters who currently have no say in the primary process a voice. We support her candidacy are excited to carry petitions on her behalf.”

Danyela Souza Egorov said, “I am running to represent Lower Manhattan in the NYS Senate because we need common sense policies that will help NY implement the reforms necessary to make our government efficient and responsive to the needs of the people. As a first-time candidate, I have seen how difficult it is to not have the support of the political establishment and will work to bring new and fresh leadership to NY.”
